George Foreman GGR200RDDS Round Indoor/Outdoor Electric Grill Review

George Foreman GGR200RDDS Round Indoor/Outdoor Electric GrillI am very pleased with this grill. When I'm done cooking I always dread the clean up; BUT as I sullenly stood at the sink and began the dreaded task, I was pleasantly surprised that clean up was a snap! It only took me a minute or two to have the thing looking like new! I walked away from the sink with a big smile!!! It is a good size...For my first meal I cooked steak and potatoes for 3, and there was plenty of room for more! I have only used this thing outside; but from what I have observed, let me suggest that if you use it inside, place it on your stove top and turn on the exhaust fan because it does give off a bit of smoke and there is some spattering which I am sure could leave some not so desirable after effects indoors. My only other minor complaint would be that there is no steam vent on the lid, so when you lift it be careful because it did have quite a bit of run off. Let me also say that my friend has the bigger model and it does have the lid vent which is great...BUT on the same token it doesn't have the nice clip underneath which keeps the grill attached to the stand. If you want to move hers, you can't just pick it up by the handles. (Although, let me make it clear, I would not recommend moving either of them while hot or with the weight of food on them; I am talking about moving them for storage or to transport). Overall, it's a great product. Keep in mind, of course, this is not a charcoal grill...so you might want to get a little creative with things like liquid smoke or hickory salt, etc. I am pleased with my purchase, but remember that we all do not have the same uses and expectations planned for the product...so it is natural to find other reviews which may not be so favorable; therefore, I suggest you choose the review that most closely relates to what you would plan to use this grill for. So far I have had success with steak, hamburgers, hot dogs and potatoes. I cannot vouch yet for things like chicken, pork chops, or kabobs...I haven't gone there...yet.

Char-Broil Patio Caddie Electric Grill Review

Char-Broil Patio Caddie Electric GrillI've had the electric patio caddie for a little over a year now, and it is an exceptional convenience.Living in an apartment complex where gas grills aren't allowed, the electric grill was my only viable alternative, but I didn't realize I was going to prefer it.Build quality is great, it heats up quickly enough (10 mins or so) and can maintain grilling temperatures of 400-500 degrees.Though compact, it is large enough to feed 2-4 potential culinary critics, from steaks to seafood to the exotic, you name it.The only slight problem I've found is that if you keep the porcelain lid off too long, the temperature can drop quickly, but for a compact grill, that's to be expected.Cleanup is not kidergarten easy, but it's not difficult either.Learn to use it (i.e. harness the "force"), and the Patio Caddie is extremely easy to control, master, and enjoy for years to come.A gas version is also available. From this review you'd think I work for Charbroil, but I don't!Great grill - 5 stars...

George Foreman GGR50B Indoor/Outdoor Grill Review

George Foreman GGR50B Indoor/Outdoor GrillBefore I get into this review, we have to understand the product we are looking at: a George Foreman ELECTRIC grill. George Foreman products are essentially useful variations of hotplates. In this case, the hot plate takes the form of a grill (with a stand, a dome cover, a large cooking surface with raised grooves etc...).

That being said, this product caters to people (me) willing to try a product that is not a traditional charcoal grill, could be useful in smaller spaces/porches, looks like it is easy to use and clean up, could potentially cut some fat (never hurts, right?), and seems like it will work well as a good back-up grill or a quick solution to throwing mini-bbqs requiring even heat distribution without the hassle of buying/lighting/dumping coal. If that's you, then read on...

Here, I'll try my best to outline the grill's pros and cons, as well as do a quick, inevitable comparison it to a traditional charcoal grill.

PROS:
The pros of this grill basically equal the pros of using hot plates in general:
1) Quick Heat - The whole surface heats up very quickly (you'll be ready to cook in a few minutes after you twist the switch)
2) Design - Basically you have the stand, a bottom dome, the flat grill that sits on the bottom dome, then the lid (top dome). You can easily remove the flat grill part to use indoors separate from the stand, and it also makes for easy cleaning since you can just throw the flat grill surface in the sink.
3) Easy to Clean - The grill surface is relatively easy to clean. Understand, grease is never easy to clean. But in my situation, i wipe off the chunks of grease with paper towels, then run hot water over it in the sink (yes it fits in my sink) and wash it with a soapy sponge. It's basically like cleaning a big oily plate by hand in the sink, however easy or hard that is to you.
4) Space Saving - The bulk of the materials are where it should be: the grilling surface. Everything else (aka the stand) is small and portable.
5) Easy to Assemble - A no brainer. Put the pole of the stand into the foot of the stand. Attach the grilling surface to the bottom dome. Stick that whole thing on the stand. Then put the cover on top. Took a few minutes while I was watching TV.
6) Great Tasting Food - Of course this part is important. I tried cooking everything unseasoned and it just tastes great. I mean, this this one thing I love about hotplates...food tastes good without a lot of seasoning. I cooked unseasoned burgers, top sirloin, chuck roast, kielbasa..it was fast, it tasted good, and it had good looking grill stripes on it when I was done.

Cons:
Seriously, not much that I can think of. If I had to be picky:
1) Could be a little heavy for people with a bad back?
2) When you lift it by the handles, the stand comes out (since they're not really "attached"....the grill just sits on the stand.) So you gotta lift it by the pole of the stand, really...this isn't even a con truthfully.
3) People complain about the grease not dripping into the pan. Well, it's a hot plate with grooves and a hole in it for grease to drip. Of course not all the grease magically swims toward the magical grease drip hole. But still, it works fine...I didn't notice sever grease build-up that stood in the way of my grilling.

Comparison to a Traditional Grill:
Really, there shouldn't be a comparison. Obviously this is not a charcoal grill and should never be compared to one. They are just 2 different things, and so they make food taste different: traditional grills basically fire cook your food through the coal's heat so you get the taste of charcoal while this product essentially "pan sears" your food. I'm a long time lover of all kinds of BBQ, and charcoal grills are great fun, make great tasting food and really cannot be replicated. You shouldn't be buying this grill to ever *REPLACE* a charcoal grill; it should be bought to be a 2nd grill that's great for rainy days or a primary grill if you really have no space and don't have time/space to deal with lighting and dumping charcoal.

Overall, this grill is an electric hot plate with raised grooves that makes great tasting food quickly, quietly, and easily. And for what it is, it's a SUPERB product (and relatively affordable too!). Go get one! I didn't regret my purchase and I don't think you will either.

Weber 526001 Q 140 Electric Barbeque Grill Review

Weber 526001 Q 140 Electric Barbeque GrillRecently the fire marshal forced our condo to ban gas grills. We love our grilled steaks, ribs, and chops and were afraid that we could no longer enjoy them.

After scouring the web for ideas, I learned about a new electric technology developed by Weber ( the famous kettle cooker people). This small "egg shaped" grill uses reflective surfaces to allow an electric coil to produce temperatures matching those of a gas grill. The meat tastes as good as comparable cuts cooked on my old gas grill.

Furthermore, the internal parts simply lift out for easy washing in the kitchen sink.

Sanyo HPS-SG3 200-Square-Inch Electric Indoor Barbeque Grill, Black Review

Sanyo HPS-SG3 200-Square inch Electric Indoor Barbeque Grill, BlackThis is one appliance that lives up to every one of the manufacturer's claims.I follow directions and spray the grill surface with cooking spray and put half a cup of water in the pan below, and the grill really is, as advertised, smokeless and extremely easy to clean.I like the adjustable grill temperature, a feature I'm not used to since my faithful antique Farberware, now deceased, had only two settings, namely "plugged in and on" or "unplugged and off".The Sanyo cooks everying in half the time the old grill did, and without cabinet-endangering flareups. I particularly like the enormous cooking surface since I'm regularly cooking for 5 adults and a child and with this grill I can cook for all of us at once. The dimensions make it easy to store if you set it vertically rather than horizontally. The appliance is so low in height that I set mine on a silicone countertop protector, but I'm not sure this is really necessary. My only complaint is that there is no surrounding rim to keep your hamburgers from sliding right off the grill when you try to flip them over, but using a second spatula as a backstop solves that problem. This grill is a terrific bargain even at the suggested retail price; at the current Amazon price it's even more terrific.

Meco 9325 Deluxe Electric Cart Grill, Satin Black Review

Meco 9325 Deluxe Electric Cart Grill, Satin BlackWe live in a condo complex on a second floor with a large balcony. We are only allowed to have an Electric Grill. After reading many of the other reviews for the other Electric Grills, I choose Meco because I did consumer research.

Having the Grill this summer was a great gift.Food tastes wonderful, doesn't take up too much space, has 2 fold out flaps to store food and such. Heats up quickly, easy temperatures gauge.

As for cleaning, take the metal rack and rinse with ease.If cleaned quickly after use, like any pot or pan with hot water, stays completely perfect. If not grill residue does build up in the electric area that gives you the heat to grill, and if you wait to long to clean you will smell the burning of the old excess drippings.(I clean immediate without any issue - the fiance although did not...)
